Published in November 2020, this report uses an Input-Output economic model to estimate QFC's economic contribution to Qatar in 2018. Employment impact totalled 12,443 jobs — 3,191 supported directly, 7,467 through indirect impacts and 1,785 through induced impacts — an increase of almost 48% since 2015. At the end of 2018, 492 companies were registered in QFC (145 newly registered that year), with the analysis based on 277 available company financial statements; QFC companies held over USD 20.1 billion of assets and generated USD 2.95 billion of revenues. QFC's direct contribution to the finance and business services sector's GDP was USD 738 million, or 3.6% of that sector's USD 20.35 billion total. The Digital sector — comprising less than 10% of the companies included in the study — made a GVA contribution of USD 89 million, which the report flags as evidence of the sector's growth potential.
